Solar Off-grid Farmhouse

We were approached to design a reliable electricity supply for a remote farmhouse in the Central West Region.

Our solution for the customer Comprised of 5.5kW of roof mounted solar coupled to a 48v Victron Off-grid Multimode inverter and BYD Lithium Batteries (with a 10yr warranty). We also supplied and installed the 9kVA 1500RPM backup generator to ensure reliable supply during the winter months.

The great feature of lithium batteries is the modular nature of the battery packs, increasing versatility and reliability for the off-grid system. If the customer decides to add additional storage to their system, we can easily add an extra battery box. If there is a failure with one battery box this can be removed to get the system back up and running quickly and can be easily replaced with a new battery pack. A traditional 48v Lead Acid system lacks both of these design features, not to mention needing 3 to 4 times the amount of space for the equivalent useable electricity.
