Hybrid Solar System in Orange

We were engaged to provide a hybrid solar system for our client in Orange, NSW with the requirements of increasing self consumption and to provide emergency power in case of grid failure.

Our solution comprised of 17 x Jinko 370w Solar PV Modules and an integrated 5kw Alpha ESS Smile Inverter and 13.3kWHr Battery module. The Alpha ESS provides a neat all-in-one package for customer installs with the battery and inverter combined in a free standing cabinet.

This system was installed December 2021 and incorporates battery storage for increased self-consumption by discharging to loads during the evening or when PV generation is low. It also has an emergency power supply function that allows some essential circuits to be used during a grid outage. For aesthetic reasons the PV modules were mounted at the rear of the house with tilt frames incorporated. The kliplok roofing profile posed a challenge for our HPS team as ceiling access was not available and the risk of water leakage is high on a roof with minimal pitch. However our team were able to keep the installation neat for the customer and avoided making any penetrations in the kliplok roof with the use of non-penetrative racking.
